YouTube TV rolls out Tennis Channel, others from Sinclair

YouTube TV has started rolling out several new channels as part of a renewed deal with Sinclair Broadcast Group.

The channels — TBD, Comet, T2 and Charge — are now available to YouTube TV subscribers as part of their base programming package, which costs $73 a month and includes around 80 other channels from Fox Corporation, Warner Bros. Discovery, Comcast’s NBC Universal, the Walt Disney Company and others.

The new channels are automatically available to YouTube TV subscribers who use the default or alphabetical program guide. Streamers who have customized the order of the channels on their guide will need to add the channels by editing the guide.

YouTube TV has also returned the Tennis Channel to its line-up, though streamers won’t automatically get the channel as part of their subscription. Instead, the service says customers will need to add the Sports Plus package to their subscription to unlock Tennis Channel. The Sports Plus package costs $11 a month and includes other sports-centric channels like Stadium, NFL RedZone, Fox Soccer Plus, Fight Network and FanDuel TV.

“We are pleased to reach an agreement that brings Tennis Channel, T2 and all three of our Emerging Networks to YouTube TV, a valued partner of ours,” Will Bell, the senior vice president for distribution and network relations at Sinclair, said in April. “As the media landscape continues to evolve, our goal remains the same – to bring our unrivaled content to people wherever they want to experience it.”

The deal reached with Sinclair two months ago also includes continued carriage of its CBS affiliates and YouTube TV, as well as an agreement to begin offering Sinclair-owned MyNetwork stations to YouTube TV streamers.
