German broadcaster ProSieben Sat.1 installed a new supervisory board at the company’s annual shareholder meeting in Unterföhring last week.
The new board includes Katharina Behrends (Sky Group), Dr. Katrin Burkhardt (ODDO BHF), Thomas Ingelfinger (Beiersdorf) and Dr. Cai-Nicolas Ziegler (Doctari Group), who were all elected by a clear majority, the company said in a statement. Other members of the board include Dr. Rolf Nonnenmacher (former KPMG), Marjorie Kaplan, and Ketan Mehta.
“On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I would like to thank the shareholders for their trust, and at the same time welcome our new members,” Dr. Andreas Wiele, the chairman of the board, said on Monday. “Their many years of experience and very diverse qualifications will enrich the Board and support ProSieben Sat.1 in its digital transformation.”
It was the first board meeting attended by Bert Habets, the CEO of ProSieben Sat.1, since he joined the company in that role last November. He previously served as the CEO of Antenna Group.
“I am pleased that Bert Habets, as the new CEO, had for the first time the opportunity to present to all shareholders our clear strategy with which he will lead ProSiebenSat.1 with a focus on the Entertainment business into the future,” Dr. Wiele affirmed. “The Supervisory Board expressly supports this.”
In addition to the board election, shareholders approved a reduced dividend of €0.05 (about $0.06), which will be disbursed to those who held positions in the company last year.
Shareholders participated in the meeting through virtual means, with the company logging 58 percent attendance.
ProSieben Sat.1 is one of the largest commercial broadcasters in Germany. It operates the ProSieben and Sat.1 pay television channels, as well as general entertainment network Kable Eins (Cable One), Austrian television channel ATV and the North America-focused ProSieben Sat.1 Welt (ProSieben Sat.1 World).
