Sportworld launches on Samsung TVs in 190 countries

German streaming company B1 Smart TV has launched its Sportworld app in more than 190 countries via Samsung smart TV sets and across most popular smartphones and tablets.

The launch comes on the heels of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which is being held in Australia and New Zealand, which is offered by some of Sportworld’s partner apps.

“With the international availability of the Sportworld app, we are setting a milestone in global sports distribution,” Dr. Robert Niemann, the CEO of B1 Smart TV, said in a statement. “Our platform provides fans with easy access to a previously-unmatched variety of sports content.”

Sportworld doesn’t necessarily stream sporting events on its own. Instead, the service bills itself as an “aggregation platform” — a way for sports fans to find live and upcoming events across a variety of partner apps and services.

The Sportworld app also offers various interactive features, including the ability for sports fans to connect with broadcasters, leagues, associations, clubs and athletes, which executives say adds another layer of engagement that is unrivaled.

Sportworld offers free, ad-supported streaming channels as well as access to premium offerings. On Monday, Sportworld also launched the “Global Sports Pass,” which allows users outside of Germany, Austria and Switzerland to watch European League Football TV, Motorvision.TV, Fitness Nation and a handful of other channels. Coming soon, fans of American football will also be able to stream European League Football matches from within Sportworld.

While B1 Smart TV touted Sportworld’s launch in nearly 200 countries on Monday, it wasn’t made clear where the app was available, though it will presumably be accessible within vast parts of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
