Great American Media is rebranding its flagship Great American Living channel to reflect more of its faith-based programming.
Later this year, the channel will take on a new name, Great American Living & Faith, which Great American Media president and CEO Bill Abbott says will bring viewers “a strong mix of content that brings the highest quality faith programming in the genre.”
“We feel strongly that the faith category is big enough to have a channel fully dedicated to the genre,” Abbott said in a statement this week. “We are committed to listening to our viewers and are dedicated to creating quality faith and family content that inspires and uplifts.”
Great American Living originally launched as Ride TV in 2014. It is a companion channel to Great American Family, and offered a number of original, reality-based programming centered around lifestyle and family topics.
Abbott said he was inspired by the success of Great American Pure Flix, the faith-based streaming service acquired from Sony, and intends to bring that same success to the new Great American Living & Faith channel.
Great American Family and Great American Living are distributed nationally by streaming services Frndly TV and Philo.
