Weigel Broadcasting has inked a deal to bring its Heroes & Icons channel to DirecTV’s satellite service.

Starting today, DirecTV satellite subscribers can watch Heroes & Icons on Channel 385. The channel was already available to subscribers of U-Verse (formerly AT&T U-Verse) and DirecTV Stream.

The addition of Heroes & Icons on DirecTV satellite expands the national availability of the channel, which is also offered on budget-friendly streaming services like Philo and Frndly TV.

“This agreement provides Weigel a strong opportunity to grow its national network viewership and sponsors, while ensuring our customers continue to possess consistent, reliable access to Weigel’s local stations,” Linda Burakoff, the senior vice president of content and programming at DirecTV, said in a statement. “We continue to work creatively with programmers like Weigel with broadcast properties to fulfill our mutual business interests in ways that consumers gain greater choice, value, and reliability they deserve.”

Heroes & Icons is available to DirecTV satellite customers who purchase the Choice programming tier or higher. Those with DirecTV’s Entertainment package will need to upgrade to Choice in order to watch the channel.

The Weigel-owned channel is the second to enjoy national distribution on DirecTV satellite. Earlier, DirecTV added Me TV to its service, which is available for subscribers of the Choice package or higher on Channel 77.

“We appreciate the growing partnership we have with DirecTV that allows for our national networks, Me TV and [Heroes & Icons], which are established viewer favorites, to be carried on their satellite and streaming platforms for their customers’ enjoyment,” Neal Sabin, the vice chairman of Weigel Broadcasting, said on Thursday.

Heroes & Icons offers re-runs of character strong shows like “MacGuyver,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Walker, Texas Ranger,” “Martial Law,” “Wonder Woman,” “Star Trek: The Original Series,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Star Trek: Voyager,” “The Twilight Zone” and “Hawaii Five-O.”

New customers can check out DirecTV’s line-up of hundreds of broadcast and cable channels, and score a $400 Visa gift card with the purchase of select programming packages, by clicking or tapping here.
