Content studio FilmRise has inked a deal with Samsung to bring its library of television shows and movies to streamers in Europe.

On Monday, the companies issued a joint announcement saying FilmRise’s collection of shows and films like “Andromeda,” “Forensic Files” and “Highway to Heaven” will be distributed by Samsung through its free, ad-supported streaming service Samsung TV Plus in Europe.

Samsung TV Plus is available on Samsung’s smart television sets as well as Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

“We are thrilled about the opportunity to work with Samsung TV Plus in Europe,” Daniel Gagliardi, the vice president of digital distribution and business development at FilmRise, said in a statement. “This partnership not only marks the debut of FilmRise content on their connected devices in this region, but also showcases the versatility of our extensive library. The breadth and depth of programming that we offer allows us to tailor content to the unique viewing preferences of different territories. We look forward to offering additional markets around the world access to our content.”

FilmRise said its content will be distributed by Samsung TV Plus in a handful of regions, including Spain, Italy, Belgin, the Nordics, Luxembourgh and the Netherlands, with plans to offer its TV shows and movies through the streaming service in other markets in the future. The content will be offered through FilmRise’s free, ad-supported streaming channels, which will be incorporated into the electronic program guide that powers the Samsung TV Plus experience.

“As an early adopter of streaming and having one of the largest footprints in the industry, we were able to successfully offer the vast European audience a plethora of content that they could watch anytime for free via our [free, ad-supported streaming] channels,” Jennifer Batty, the head of content acquisition for Samsung TV Plus in Europe, said on Monday. “We are looking forward to adding FilmRise’s extensive catalog of content to that slate as well.”

Streamers in the United States already have access to FilmRise content through Samsung TV Plus. The film studio also has distribution agreements with the Roku Channel, Paramount Global’s Pluto TV, Redbox TV, Comcast’s Peacock and Amazon’s Freevee.
