The Walt Disney Company’s local ABC television division has struck an agreement with Sinclair Broadcast Group to carry one of its digital television networks.

Starting April 1, ABC-owned television stations in eight markets will start carrying the Charge! television network on their third digital sub-channel, replacing Allen Media Group’s This TV.

The eight markets that will start carrying Charge! on local ABC stations are New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Fresno and Raleigh-Durham.

“We are thrilled to launch Charge! and broaden our partnership with ABC Owned Television Stations,” Lee Schlazer, the senior vice president of distribution at Sinclair, said in a statement. “Sinclair continues to grow our multicast networks and securing big- 4 network row positioning for the launch of Charge! on all eight ABC powerhouse stations was a key strategic initiative.”

The launch of Charge! on ABC-owned television stations in those major markets puts the network in front of more than 4 million broadcast TV homes and over 3.7 million cable TV viewers, Sinclair said.

Charge! is now distributed in over 100 TV markets across the country, including nine of the top 10 regions. The channel offers off-network re-runs of police procedural dramas like “CSI: New York,” “CSI: Miami,” “Without a Trace,” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”
