Charter Communications editorial brand Spectrum News is hitting the road to take the political pulse of the country with a new hour-long special called “Front Porch Politics Across America.”

The program sees Spectrum News political anchor Tim Boyum travel from New York City to Los Angeles — two television markets where Charter’s Spectrum TV operates a regional news channel — while making stops along the way to hear from every day Americans on the political issues that matter to them.

Boyum travels in an electric vehicle across more than a dozen states, including five so-called “battleground states.” The entire trip involved 3,800 miles of road, Charter said.

“Featured stories will include sentiments on the presidential race from all perspectives, as well as issues small towns are facing, concerns of dairy farmers who feel overlooked in politics, small business owners and what matters to them, ballot measures related to abortion, and trust in the electoral system and final results,” a spokesperson for Spectrum News said.

The one-hour special will air Thursday, October 24 at 9 p.m. local time on more than 30 Spectrum News-branded regional cable channels across the country, in markets where Spectrum operates the local cable TV platform. It will also stream via the Spectrum News app for phones, Roku, Apple TV and Xumo Stream Box, and on Spectrum News Plus via Xumo Play.
