Nexstar Media Group’s CW Network is moving its weekly football recap show “Inside the NFL” back to Wednesday nights.

The show was relegated to Friday evenings since the start of the National Football League’s (NFL) 2024 season, an odd choice given that the beginning of the NFL’s football week is on Thursdays.

The move essentially meant Inside the NFL was covering week-old football recaps while offering previews into the week that had already started with each “Thursday Night Football” game over the past five weeks.

Now, Inside the NFL rightly takes its place on Wednesday evenings — two days after the conclusion of ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” and the end of the prior NFL week, and one day before Amazon’s Prime Video and Twitch streams the Thursday night game of the following week.

Accordingly, the CW Network will move its British import “Joan” from Wednesday evenings to Friday evenings, the network said. The show started airing on ITV in September and was licensed by the CW Network for the U.S. audience.

Inside the NFL moved to the CW Network last year after airing on Paramount Plus for two seasons and Showtime for more than a decade. The program began on HBO in 1977.
