Sinclair’s streaming news service NewsOn is now available to users of Vizio’s smart television sets, the companies announced on Thursday.

The NewsOn app offers live and replay access to newscasts from more than 280 local television stations in over 135 markets, including outlets owned by Sinclair, Paramount (CBS News and Stations), News Press and Gazette, Hearst Television, TEGNA and the E. W. Scripps Company, among others.

“Expanding NewsOn to Vizio’s platform underscores our commitment to making local news accessible to more viewers,” Ron Stitt, the Vice President and General Manager of NewsOn, said in a statement. “We’re excited to bring comprehensive, real-time and on-demand local news coverage to Vizio users, ensuring they stay informed about their communities.”

The app lands on Vizio at a time when many stations available through NewsOn are gearing up to offer comprehensive coverage of Election Day results in their communities, including key local, regional and state competitions.

In addition to Vizio smart TVs, the NewsOn app is available as a free download on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV (Google TV), Samsung smart TVs and on Apple and Android-powered phones and tablets. Content can also be streamed through the NewsOn website.
