Nexstar Media Group says it is eliminating the position of Chief Revenue Officer within its company and has decided to part ways with its current CRO Michael Strober.
In a filling with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission late Friday afternoon, the television broadcaster said the decision to eliminate the Chief Revenue Officer position was made out of a desire to streamline its operations.
Strober was notified that his position was being eliminated on September 30, the company said in the filing. He will depart on October 30, unless both sides agree he should leave earlier.
It was not clear if Strober was eligible for certain benefits, including severance. A biography for the executive was removed from Nexstar’s corporate website this week.
Strober joined Nexstar in 2023 and was responsible for leading the company’s advertising sales business across its traditional linear TV channels, the CW Network, cable channel NewsNation and digital platforms like The Hill. His hiring came several months after Nexstar acquired a 75 percent stake in the CW Network, with former network owners Paramount and Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) retaining an equal share of the other 25 percent.
From 2012 to 2019, he worked in various executive ad sales roles at the Turner portfolio of channels, which were owned by AT&T business unit WarnerMedia upon his departure in 2019. That year, he founded Topwater Advisory Group, a consultancy firm that advised clients on the media landscape.
