Paramount and Comcast’s European joint venture Sky Showtime (stylized as SkyShowtime) has launched its newest service tier called “Premium,” and is offering TV and film fans a deep discount on the plan if they live in certain areas.
Starting this week, Sky Showtime customers in Andorra, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, and Slovakia can score a 50 percent discount off the Sky Showtime Premium plan for the life of their account. The discount was previously offered as a promotion off the “Standard” tier of service.
“When we first introduced the Half Price for Life offer alongside our Standard plan, it was a huge hit with consumers,” Monty Sarhan, the CEO of Sky Showtime, said in a statement. “Now, we’re thrilled to bring it back — this time with 50 percent off our Premium plan for life. This offer ensures the whole family can enjoy our epic entertainment with all the added benefits of the Premium plan at amazing value for years to come.”
The Standard and Premium plans both offer commercial-free access to the Sky Showtime catalog, which includes films and TV series from the content libraries of Paramount Global (Paramount Pictures, Paramount Television, CBS, MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, CBS News) and Comcast’s NBC Universal (NBC, Universal Pictures, Bravo, Sky, E!, Dreamworks Animation, NBC News).
Where things differ is that Standard offers content in high definition, while Premium kicks things up a notch to ultra-high definition (UHD/4K). Premium subscribers also have the ability to download up to 100 TV episodes or 30 feature-length films to their mobile devices for offline streaming.
The Half Off for Life promotion runs through December 9.
