The top official at the Federal Communications Commission has unveiled a nine-episode podcast series that includes conversations with trailblazers in the media, technology and communications industries.

The series, called “First Conversations,” is hosted by FCC Chairperson Jessica Rosenworcel. The agency announced the debut of the podcast on Thursday, though some of the episodes offered on the series were recorded as early as November 2022, according to show metadata reviewed by The Desk.

The episodes include conversations with documentarian Ken Burns, AOL founder Steve Case, Craigslist pioneer Craig Newmark, AI Safety Institute Director Elizabeth Kelly and NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, among others.

“For every historic ‘first’ there are always people who came before them, who cleared the path and made it easier for others to follow and go even farther,” Rosenworcel said in a statement. “That’s the virtuous cycle, and what this podcast speaker series aimed to uncover.”

First Conversations is available on Apple Podcasts.
