Comcast’s NBC Universal has launched its free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel NBC News Now in Latin America for the first time.
Starting this week, streamers in Brazil will be able to watch free news coverage from NBC News on FAST platforms in that country. Internet users in Mexico will also have access to NBC News Now as part of a new distribution pact with streaming platforms there, the company announced on Monday.
NBC News Now originally launched in 2019, with a focus on FAST distribution in the United States. Over time, it expanded to several European countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Norway, Finland and Sweden — countries where its pay TV platform Sky operates, or where it offers the streaming services Peacock or Sky Showtime.
Samsung TV Plus and LG Channels help distribute NBC News Now in Europe, along with other FAST channels like Dateline 24/7 and Today All Day. In Mexico and Brazil, Samsung will serve as the launch partner for distribution of NBC News Now. Other platforms may start offering NBC News Now over time.
NBC News Now includes replays of “The Today Show,” “NBC News Daily” and “NBC Nightly News,” along with FAST-specific programs like “Top Story with Tom Llamas,” “Meet the Press Now” and “Hallie Jackson Now.”
In the United States, NBC News Now is available on YouTube, Peacocok, Xumo Play, Paramount’s Pluto TV, Fox Corporation’s Tubi, Plex, Samsung TV Plus, Vizio WatchFree Plus, LG Channels, Sling Freestream and other free TV platforms.
