Worth are,” said Andrew Alford, the President of Broadcasting at Nexstar. “Securing 15 regular season games and four spring training games for broadcast on free over-the-air television is a clear demonstration of Nexstar’s commitment to serving our local communities with high-quality live sports and entertainment programming.”
The first game distributed by Nexstar as part of its partnership with the Texas Rangers will be the team’s match-up with the Boston Red Sox on Friday, March 28. The full team schedule will be announced at a later date, as will TV broadcast partners.
This year, the Texas Rangers are launching their own regional sports network, called Rangers Sports Network, which has secured distribution on DirecTV’s satellite and streaming platforms.
