Nexstar hires Samantha Osborne Reynolds to oversee political ad sales

She previously served as a senior sales executive at the E. W. Scripps Company, and held digital executive roles with the Republican National Committee.

Nexstar Media Group on Tuesday appointed industry sales veteran Samantha Osborne Reynolds to oversee the company’s newly-formed political advertising sales unit.

As Vice President of Political Sales, Osborne Reynolds will build and manage the political ad sales unit by creating, developing and executing on strategies to grow and maintain the company’s local and national political advertising business. She reports to Jon Camera, the Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales.

“Sam is a strategic thinker, deeply experienced, and the perfect person to lead our new political advertising sales division,” Camera said in a statement on Tuesday. “Her dynamic background and innovative approach will help us to sharpen our focus on national, digital, and connected TV political advertising sales and enable us to provide customized solutions to meet the changing needs of our political clients. Nexstar has a history of success in driving results through political advertising, and I am confident this new political sales division will thrive under Sam’s leadership.”

Nexstar owns or operates nearly 200 local TV stations across the country, as well as the cable news channel NewsNation. It also operates the CW Network and the political publication The Hill.

Osborne Reynolds joins the broadcaster from the E. W. Scripps Company, where she oversaw the political advocacy and automation business unit there. She joined Scripps in 2019 as the company’s senior director of national sales. Previously, she worked as the Chief Digital Officer for the Republican National Committee.

Osborne Reynolds will remain in Washington, D.C.
