Electric Entertainment said its live stream of the 52nd Annual Saturn Awards doubled its viewership compared to last year.

Specific figures were not provided for the number of people who tuned in to watch the Saturn Awards, which honors the best actors and films across the science fiction, fantasy and horror genres. This year, the awards streamed on Electric Now live from Los Angeles; last year, an encore presentation aired on Sinclair’s multicast network Comet.

“I have long been a fan of The Saturn Awards. In 2022, we increased its audience to streaming viewers through our OTT app and FAST Channel,” Dean Devlin, the CEO of Electric Entertainment, said in a statement. “Each year, this event grows and unites the sci-fi, horror, and fantasy TV and film community, and now viewers can enjoy watching this unforgettable evening at home.

The Saturn Awards were first hosted in 1972, and has taken place every year thereafter. Electric Now began streaming the event in 2022, and it has tripled its viewership since that inaugural live stream.
