Pay television provider DirecTV has unlocked access to the ad-supported tier of Max within its MyEntertainment package on DirecTV Stream.
The Warner Bros Discovery-owned service joins a growing list of ad-supported streamers that are available to DirecTV Stream subscribers with the MyEntertainment plan, which costs $35 per month and includes linear cable networks like A&E, CNN, Fox News, Fox Business, Food Network, FX, FXX, FXM, MSNBC, Vice TV, SyFy and the History Channel, among others.
The retail price of Max with Ads is $10 per month, while Disney Plus and Hulu each cost $10 per month with ads. The ad-supported Disney Duo bundle costs $11 per month, while a version of the Disney Duo bundle that includes Max costs $17 per month.
That means DirecTV Stream customers save between $17 and $30 per month off the individual or bundled price of the ad-supported services of Max, Disney Plus and Hulu when they opt for MyEntertainment — and they get streaming access to linear cable networks as well.

In addition to MyEntertainment, DirecTV Stream has a handful of other genre-based packages, including MyNews ($40 per month, includes cable news channels plus local Fox and NBC stations and affiliates) and MySports (cable sports networks like ESPN, Fox Sports 1, CBS Sports Network, NFL Network, NHL Network, MLB Network and NBA TV), plus add-on packages like MyHome Team (regional sports networks) and MySports Extra (includes NFL RedZone).
The genre-based packages are intended to offer DirecTV Stream customers flexibility in picking the types of channels they want, without the added cost of subscribing to channels they don’t. MyEntertainment is better suited for those who want a robust, all-in-one entertainment experience, with added streaming perks like Disney Plus, Hulu and Max, while MySports is tailored to fans of live football, baseball, basketball and hockey.
Last week, The Desk was first to report that MyNews would include C-SPAN and C-SPAN 2, marking one of the few times that the political affairs multiplex has been offered beyond a traditional pay TV package. DirecTV is one of several cable and satellite TV companies that financial supports C-SPAN, which offers wall-to-wall coverage of the U.S. House of Representatives (C-SPAN) and U.S. Senate (C-SPAN 2), plus live committee hearings and other political events.
