Hubbard Broadcasting has launched a standalone streaming app for its Reelz cable and satellite network.

The app is now available on Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices, and includes the full linear channel of Reelz along with on-demand access to shows and documentaries or $5 per month or $50 per year.

Reelz started as a channel that offered robust coverage of Hollywood films, with cinema recap shows and documentaries on movies and actors. The channel landed the distribution rights to “On Patrol: Live,” a pseudo spin-off of the hit A&E series “Live PD,” and has leaned harder into true-crime series with the growing popularity of that program on its network.

“In an ever-changing media world, having Reelz and our hit program On Patrol: Live affordably available through our own streaming app to anyone in the US elevates the network to a truly multi-platform experience,” Stan E. Hubbard, the CEO of Reelz, said in a statement. “Fans can now enjoy On Patrol: Live every Friday and Saturday night, and let their friends who don’t get Reelz know that there is a new way to get us, as it airs on the device of their choice and includes access to our growing library of programming on demand.”

It is the second time the linear Reelz channel has been offered on a streaming service that doesn’t replicate the traditional pay TV bundle. Comcast’s streaming service Peacock added the Reelz linear channel to its service in 2023.

In addition to Reelz Plus and Peacock, Reelz is also offered on DirecTV Stream, Philo and Sling TV.
