Gray Media has promoted the general manager of its Hartford-based CBS affiliate to serve in a similar capacity for a larger group of TV stations.

This week, Dana Neves took the title of Senior Managing Vice President, which comes with the responsibility of overseeing Gray Media’s local TV stations throughout the U.S. northeast and mid-Atlantic region, the company said.

For the past seven years, Neves has served as the general manager of WFSB (Channel 3, CBS) in Hartford and overseen the day-to-day operations of the station and its broadcast sports network The Wax.

She started her career as an intern at WFSB, climbing the ladder to hold titles like News Director, Regional News Director, General Manager and Senior Vice President while at Meredith Corporation, whose assets were eventually acquired by Gray Media.

After Gray Media’s purchase of Meredith, Neves oversaw its TV stations in Connecticut, Maine and Massachusetts — many of which will now be under her purview again, as well as a number of other outlets.

Gray Media said it has launched a search for Neves’ successor at WFSB, which will be announced in the near future.
