Charter Communications has launched Spectrum Noticias, a new national channel that offers news and information in Spanish, the company said this week.
Spectrum Noticias is available across the Spectrum service footprint, and operates around-the-clock, with live reports on major events and comprehensive analysis on critical issues, complete with weather forecasts and “reporting on stories that celebrate and explore Hispanic culture and heritage,” a Charter spokesperson said.
“Objective journalism is a key pillar of a democratic society and Spectrum News is at the forefront,” said Mike Bair, the Executive Vice President of Spectrum Networks. “The launch of Spectrum Noticias underscores our dedication by expanding access to high-quality news programming and providing a trusted option to our Spanish-speaking viewers.”
Pasti Arias and Philip Klint will serve as anchors of Spectrum Noticias during the week. María Rozman, the Senior Director of Spectrum News, will lead editorial content for Spectrum Noticias. The channel has established news bureaus in Southern California, New York, Texas and Florida, where reporters will be embedded in large Spanish-language communities. In those markets, Spectrum Noticias viewers will see local headlines every 30 minutes in addition to national news reports.
“In addition to our English-language networks, our launch of Spectrum Noticias brings Spectrum News’ brand of award-winning storytelling to an audience that prefers to watch their news in Spanish,” said Rozman. “With our team of journalists living in the communities we serve, we deliver reliable and balanced local, national and international news that is relevant to the Spanish-speaking community.”
Spectrum Noticias is available throughout Spectrum’s service footprint on Spectrum TV, as well as through the Spectrum News app for phones, tablets and smart TV platforms like Xumo TV and the Xumo Stream Box.
