EdgeBeam Wireless, the joint venture formed by The E.W. Scripps Company, Gray Media, Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair, has appointed Conrad Clemson as its Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Clemson assumes leadership of the newly formed company as it prepares to build out a high-capacity, nationwide wireless data platform that leverages the broadcast industry’s infrastructure and the capabilities of the ATSC 3.0 standard. EdgeBeam aims to offer advanced data delivery services across multiple verticals by utilizing spectrum and transmission efficiencies unique to broadcasters.
A seasoned executive with a strong track record across media, telecommunications, and tech, Clemson brings deep experience in scaling innovation-driven companies. Most recently, he was CEO of EditShare, where he transitioned the firm from a founder-led business into a high-growth enterprise, investing heavily in R&D and building a top-tier executive team. Previously, Clemson founded BNI Video, a service management platform for pay TV, which was acquired by Cisco, where he later held senior roles driving video and broadband initiatives.
As CEO, Clemson is tasked with operationalizing EdgeBeam’s vision, positioning the company at the intersection of broadcasting and data services at scale. His appointment signals a serious push by the venture’s founding media groups to capitalize on the underutilized potential of ATSC 3.0 and redefine the role of broadcast infrastructure in the digital age.
