Local television broadcaster Sinclair has promoted Matt Hamilton, its Market Sales Manager in Boise, to serve as the Vice President and General Manager of its station cluster there.

Starting this week, Hamilton will oversee all operations at KBOI (Channel 2, CBS) and KYUU-LD (Channel 35, CW Network), as well as Marquee Broadcasting-owned KNIN (Channel 9, Fox), which Sinclair operates through a shared services agreement.

“We are thrilled to elevate Matt,” Rob Weisbord, the Chief Operating Officer and President of Local Media at Sinclair, said in a statement. “His extensive media experience, combined with his strategic mindset and collaborative leadership style, make him the ideal choice to lead the Boise stations.”

“I’m honored for the opportunity to lead this talented team into the next chapter of growth and excellence. We will continue to uphold Sinclair’s commitment to super-serving the community, engaging our audiences with high-quality local content, and providing Treasure Valley businesses with premium and strategic marketing solutions to accelerate growth and help them thrive,” said Hamilton.

Hamilton has worked in senior sales leadership roles for a number of stations throughout his career, including outlets in Las Vegas, Green Bay and Portland. He also worked in the radio industry for a bit, where he handled sales-related initiatives at iHeartRadio’s cluster of stations in Oregon.
