Nexstar Media Group has promoted Dan Lanzano to the newly created role of President of National Advertising Sales, expanding his leadership over the company’s growing portfolio of national advertising operations. The appointment is effective immediately.

In this new position, Lanzano will oversee all aspects of Nexstar’s national advertising strategy, including sales teams for network properties such as the CW Sports, CW Entertainment, CW Digital and NewsNation. His remit also includes Nexstar’s multicast networks Antenna TV and Rewind TV, along with the company’s political and national spot advertising businesses. Lanzano will additionally lead Nexstar’s research, national network monetization, and both paid and direct response ad departments.

Based in New York City, Lanzano will report directly to Michael Biard, President and Chief Operating Officer of Nexstar.

“This is a well-deserved promotion,” said Biard. “Dan has had a terrific impact on our national sales efforts since joining Nexstar in early 2024. He is a creative thinker and a dynamic leader, adept at recruiting, building, and motivating enthusiastic sales teams that are not content with the status quo. He is well respected across the media industry for his understanding of audiences regardless of platform.”

Lanzano joined Nexstar in February 2024 as Senior Vice President of National Advertising Sales. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in developing revenue strategies for CW Sports and leading the upfront and scatter markets for Nexstar’s networks. His work has included overseeing sponsorship revenue, media sales packaging, and evaluating new sports rights opportunities.

With nearly two decades of experience in media sales, Lanzano previously held senior positions at Warner Bros Discovery (WBD), where he served as Vice President of Advertising Sales. During his six-year tenure in that role, he led monetization strategies across a broad portfolio, including entertainment, sports, news, and digital properties like the streaming service Max. He began his advertising career at WBD, rising through the ranks in a variety of sales roles.

“Nexstar’s unique portfolio of national media assets, supported by its unrivaled local broadcast portfolio, affords the company a tremendous advantage over the competition,” Lanzano said. “We have a talented, industry-leading sales team in place, and I am looking forward to helping Nexstar significantly grow its share of national advertising across the country.”
