DAZN selected Amagi to serve as the exclusive live playout partner for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 soccer tournament, the companies confirmed this week.

The cloud-based, software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology provider supported DAZN’s delivery of all 63 matches of the inaugural tournament, which was streamed to audiences in more than 200 markets. With exclusive global broadcast rights, DAZN relied on Amagi’s scalable cloud infrastructure to maintain uninterrupted service and nearly 100 percent uptime throughout the event.

Amagi’s CloudPort (stylized as CLOUDPORT) solution enabled low-latency delivery of live matches and allowed for regional customisation, including language feeds and sponsorship integration. The deployment supported as many as 108 concurrent live events and 27 feed variants per match.

Emma Whitmore, the Senior Vice President of Sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Amagi, said the collaboration underscored the growing shift toward cloud-native workflows in live sports broadcasting.

“A live sports tournament such as the FIFA Club World Cup requires a solution that is both resilient and scalable,” Whitmore said. “This collaboration with DAZN highlights how cloud-native orchestration can reduce operational costs, improve monetization and deliver high-impact outcomes for tier-1 sports platforms.”

James Pearce, DAZN’s Senior Vice President of Broadcast and Streaming, said the company’s global coverage required a technical partner that could ensure reliability at scale.

“The FIFA Club World Cup was a milestone event for DAZN, with hundreds of millions of football fans around the world expecting a flawless viewing experience,” Pearce said. “Amagi’s CloudPort, deployed for DAZN using highly resilient architecture, was important in enabling us to deliver uninterrupted, high-quality coverage at scale for this tournament. Amagi’s real-time support allowed us to meet the technical demands of the tournament with confidence and efficiency.”

Amagi and DAZN began working together in 2023. Since then, both companies have expanded their operational collaboration to address the evolving needs of large-scale live sports events.

The deployment reflects Amagi’s broader strategy of supporting tier-1 broadcasters and sports streaming services with cloud-led infrastructure that blends flexibility, fault tolerance and operational efficiency.
