DirecTV’s streaming platform MyFree DirecTV will add several new content streams from Fox Corporation, Comcast’s NBC Universal and Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) in the coming days, The Desk has learned.
Starting Thursday, users of DirecTV’s free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service will have access to three more NBC Universal content streams: NBC News Now, Today All Day and Dateline 24/7. The channels will begin appearing in the DirecTV app on Thursday afternoon.
Next Monday, DirecTV will add two new channels from Fox and four marathon streams from WBD, including:
- Fox Sports
- The Masked Signer (Fox)
- Ghosts are Real (WBTV)
- How To (WBTV)
- I Almost Got Away With It (WBTV)
- Sweet Escapes (WBTV)
MyFree DirecTV launched last November with a curated selection of more than 70 FAST channels from various programming partners. Over time, that roster has expanded to over 100 thanks to distribution agreements with NBC Universal, WBD, Lionsgate, the E. W. Scripps Company, Disney and RTL Group’s Fremantle.
As the name implies, MyFree DirecTV is available without a subscription, with content accessed through the DirecTV streaming app. Customers of DirecTV’s satellite and streaming services with Internet-connected equipment also have access to MyFree DirecTV channels.
Streamers who want access to premium entertainment networks, news and sports have two options available: DirecTV’s “Signature” plans, which resemble a traditional cable TV package, and DirecTV’s new genre-based plans that start at $20 per month.
