Gray Media has appointed Alexander Quince as the next General Manager of WBNG-TV, its CBS affiliate in Binghamton, New York, the company announced this week.

Quince will assume the role on October 13, 2025, overseeing all areas of the station’s operations. He succeeds longtime WBNG (Channel 12) General Manager Bob Krummenacker, who retired on September 5 after 44 years with the station.

An award-winning news executive, Quince brings more than a decade of newsroom and leadership experience to WBNG. He most recently worked as senior director at Spectrum News, where he oversaw news operations and staff across several New York state markets, including Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and the Hudson Valley.

While at Spectrum, Quince helped grow viewership across broadcast and digital platforms. He also launched the state’s first augmented reality news studio, a move aimed at enhancing the presentation of local coverage and building deeper engagement with audiences.

“I’m honored to join WBNG-TV and build on its strong legacy,” Quince said in a statement. “I look forward to working with this talented team to deliver impactful news and information while also driving innovative strategies that strengthen our broadcast and digital presence, elevate advertiser performance, and maximize brand partnerships. Together, we will connect communities and our partners throughout the Southern Tier region.”

Before his tenure at Spectrum, Quince held leadership positions at several major-market stations. He worked at WABC-TV (Channel 7) in New York City, KTUL-TV (Channel 8, ABC) in Tulsa, WBMA-TV (Channel 33, ABC) in Birmingham and WXIA-TV (Channel 11, NBC) in Atlanta. His career has been recognized with multiple Emmy Awards and Edward R. Murrow Awards for excellence in journalism and newsroom innovation.

In addition to his professional experience, Quince has been active in industry development programs. He is a fellow of the Carole Kneeland Project for Responsible Journalism, has participated in programs at the Poynter Institute, and currently serves as a director on the Florida State University Alumni Association National Board of Directors. He graduated from Florida State with a bachelor’s degree in communication.

WBNG is the only full-power CBS affiliate serving the Southern Tier of New York. The station also carries CW programming on a digital sub-channel and produces local news and information content for both broadcast and digital platforms.
