Fox Business Network has hired Darren Botelho as its newest Washington-based correspondent, the network announced Monday.

Botelho will report on political and economic developments from the nation’s capital. He joins Fox Business from WBTS-CD (Channel 15, “NBC 10 Boston”), where he served as a weekend evening anchor and reporter.

During his tenure at NBC 10 Boston, Botelho covered several high-profile stories, including the Karen Read murder trial, federal funding negotiations between the Trump administration and Harvard University, and an exclusive investigation into a child sex sting operation involving a Boston Red Sox employee and a school worker.

Before his time at NBC 10 Boston, Botelho anchored weekend evening newscasts at WLNE-TV (Channel 6, ABC), the ABC affiliate in Providence, Rhode Island. Earlier in his career, he worked in the communications department at NASDAQ on Wall Street.

A native of the Northeast, Botelho holds a Master of Business Administration from Clemson University and a journalism degree from the University of Maryland.

Fox Business Network is part of Fox News Media, a division of Fox Corporation. The network reaches more than 60 million homes on cable, satellite and streaming television, and is part of the recently-launched Fox One streaming app that includes Fox’s local and national programming.
