TV5 Monde has signed a distribution agreement with Plex to launch three free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channels across parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America.
Under the deal, TV5 Monde Chefs and TV5 Monde Voyage are now available on Plex’s live streaming television platform in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America, including Argentina and Mexico. TV5 Monde Info is available in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
All three channels stream free of charge on Plex and are subtitled in English and Spanish. TV5 Monde said Chefs and Voyage will also launch in Brazil in the near future with Portuguese subtitles, in addition to English and Spanish.
“This partnership with Plex allows us to bring our popular programming to an even wider audience, with viewers able to enjoy the latest chefs, news and travel content — accessible in several languages,” said Patrice Courtaban, the Executive Vice President of Global Growth & Business Development at TV5 Monde. “FAST continues to become more widely available around the world, through many platforms, and we are excited to continue to do more in this space.”
Plex operates a global streaming platform that aggregates movies and television shows across services, while also offering free movies and live TV channels. TV5 Monde distributes 10 general-interest French-language channels to more than 400 million households in 200 countries and territories and operates the streaming platform TV5 Monde+, along with FAST channels and digital products.
