French international broadcaster TV5 Monde and Dish Network’s streaming platform Sling TV have deepened their relationship with the launch of a new free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel.
The channel, called TV5 Monde Voyage (stylized as TV5MONDE Voyage), debuted this week on Sling TV’s FAST platform Sling Freestream. It follows news from August that TV5 Monde worked with Sling TV to integrate the content library of TV5 Monde Plus into its streaming app for connected TVs, phones and tablets.
“The team at Sling TV and Dish Network continues to be incredible partners to TV5 Monde, serving their audiences with premium French-language content across channels and platforms,” Patrice Courtaban, the CEO of TV5 Monde USA and the Executive Vice President of Global Growth & Business Development at TV5 Monde, said in a statement. “The addition of the Voyage FAST channel to Sling Freestream brings additional value to this offering, and we are excited to be bringing our popular, English-subtitled lifestyle programming to a broader audience interesting in French-speaking cultures around the world.”
TV5 Monde Voyage will include a curated selection of special interest programs and documentaries that center around lifestyle trends, travel, fashion and culture. Shows that will stream in rotation on the channel include “#version française,” “Démo de mode” and “Tendance XXI.”
Sling Freestream users who want a deeper library of French programs can subscribe to TV5 Monde Plus from within the app. The service offers programming with English and French subtitles, and costs $15 per month after a 7-day free trial.
