LTN Global on Thursday unveiled a series of enhancements to its global IP video network, saying the upgrades were a direct response to growing demand from broadcasters who are shifting away from satellite-based distribution amid looming spectrum constraints.

In a press release, LTN said the new capabilities are designed to improve reliability, scalability and operational visibility as media companies accelerate transitions from legacy satellite infrastructure to IP-based delivery models.

The announcement comes as U.S. regulators prepare for additional C-Band spectrum auctions that could reallocate up to 180 megahertz (MHz) of capacity for 5G services by 2027. That shift is expected to further compress available satellite bandwidth, increasing pressure on broadcasters to adopt alternative distribution methods.

LTN said its latest network enhancements focus on four primary areas: reliability, visibility, reach and operational control.

On reliability, the company is building on its 99.9999 percent service-level availability by introducing Adaptive Multi-carrier Rapid Error Recovery, hitless switching and improvements to last-mile delivery. These upgrades are intended to maintain stable performance even under degraded network conditions.

To address operational complexity, LTN is expanding monitoring and analytics tools, including historical performance tracking, enhanced source monitoring and broader API integrations. The company said these features will give customers greater insight into feed health and enable faster troubleshooting across large-scale distribution environments.

The company is also expanding network access options. New gateway configurations include a high-capacity system capable of receiving up to 500 channels for large headends and a smaller-footprint option designed for affiliates managing limited channel lineups. LTN said the additions are intended to accelerate deployment while maintaining compatibility with existing broadcast workflows.

In addition, LTN is working with hardware vendors including MediaKind, Harmonic, Appear and Ateme to integrate its network directly into encoding and IRD devices. Those integrations will be demonstrated later this month at an industry trade show in Nevada.

LTN is also introducing enhancements to its orchestration and management tools, including dynamic content routing, improved distribution group management and centralized control through a single interface. The company said these updates are aimed at helping broadcasters manage hybrid distribution environments with less manual intervention.

“We are continuing to invest in the areas that drive clear value for major networks and broadcasters — resilience, visibility, scale and cost control,” Malik Khan, the co-Founder and Executive Chairman of LTN, affirmed in a statement.

LTN said its IP distribution footprint grew 200 percent in 2025, reflecting increased adoption of IP-based workflows across the industry. LTN currently supports more than 80 million hours of live video annually, including nearly 5 million hours of news and more than 1 million live sporting events.
