Starz and Crunchyroll have launched a new U.S. streaming bundle through Prime Video, giving customers access to both services for $17 per month.
The companies said the bundle is available to new customers beginning July 29 and represents savings of more than 23 percent compared with subscribing to the services separately.
The package brings together Starz’s premium scripted programming and movie library with Crunchyroll’s anime catalog. Customers can subscribe through Prime Video by selecting the Starz and Crunchyroll bundle and completing the sign-up process through their Amazon account.
“This offering brings together two services with distinctive programming, giving viewers access to a range of stories and genres,” Alison Hoffman, President of Starz Networks, said. “The way households discover and consume television continues to evolve. This bundle with Crunchyroll and Prime Video enables us to broaden our reach and introduce the Starz slate of premium programming to new viewers.”
Starz programming included in the bundle covers the full “Power” universe, including the series finale of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” which is scheduled for August 7. The service will also offer “Fightland,” Starz’s first wholly owned original series, beginning July 31.
Other upcoming Starz titles include “S.W.A.T. Exiles,” starring and executive produced by Shemar Moore, and “Outlander: Blood of My Blood,” the newest entry in the “Outlander” franchise.
The bundle also includes Starz movies such as “Michael,” the biopic starring Jaafar Jackson, the sports action drama “Beast,” starring Russell Crowe, Luke Hemsworth and Daniel MacPherson, “The Housemaid,” starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, and “Shelter,” starring Jason Statham.
Crunchyroll will bring anime titles including “Dragon Ball,” “Dragon Ball DAIMA,” “Naruto,” “Naruto Shippuden,” “Afro Samurai,” “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood,” “My Hero Academia” and “Cowboy Bebop.”
The service’s August lineup includes “BLACK TORCH,” “Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia,” “Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3,” “Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You” and “ONE PIECE HEROINES.”
“At Crunchyroll, we believe anime is a powerful medium for storytelling and connection, and our goal is to continue bringing it to more audiences in more accessible ways,” Terry Li, Chief Product Officer and Executive Vice President of Emerging Business at Crunchyroll, said.
Matt Huntley, Director of U.S. Channels at Prime Video, said the bundle reflects Prime Video’s effort to expand subscription packages that combine entertainment services in one place.
“The addition of the Crunchyroll and Starz bundle reflects Prime Video’s commitment to delivering value and convenience for customers as we continue to expand the breadth of our bundle offerings,” Huntley said in a statement. “Whether it’s premium dramas, blockbuster films, or world-class anime, Prime Video is making it seamless for customers to access the entertainment they want, all in one place.”
