Free streaming service Local Now is expanding the amount of local television news content available on its platform through a new deal with broadcaster Gray Media, the companies announced on Monday.

Starting this month, a total of 111 local TV news feeds from Gray Media-owned outlets will be available to streamers with the Local Now app, which is widely available on phones, tablets and smart TVs.

Local Now is owned by Allen Media Group, the broadcast company founded by comedian Byron Allen. The deal expands on several business-related transactions involving the two companies; earlier this year, Allen Media sold a handful of local TV stations to Gray Media as it works to pay down certain debt.

“Local Now delivers the most local news of any streaming platform in the country. Our partnership with Gray Media ensures our viewers can stay connected to real-time news, weather and sports that matter most to them wherever they may be,” Allen said in a statement. “Between our broadcast partner network and our proprietary hyper-local technology, Local Now remains committed to delivering premium, trusted local journalism to every community in America, entirely for free.”

The new channels brings Local Now’s offering to more than 600 content streams, including 370 standalone news channels. The company also produces more than 220 “Local Now” branded content streams that offer news, weather and other information on a regional basis.
