Hearst Television says its Vice President of Finance Stanley Herriott will retire at the end of the year, concluding an eight-year tenure with the broadcast television company.
Herriott joined Hearst Television in 2019 and has overseen financial planning and analysis across the organization, along with its regional finance, corporate finance, billing and receivables and credit and collections operations. His responsibilities have included supporting financial management across Hearst Television’s portfolio of local broadcast stations and coordinating financial operations with the company’s broader business objectives.
Hearst Television did not announce a successor to Herriott in its retirement announcement.
“Stan has brought his authentic self to his role with us. He’s a good broadcaster, and a good person,” Michael J. Hayes, the President of Hearst Television, said in a statement. “In addition to his financial acumen, he has helped us build our team and attracted next generation talent to our organization.”
On Thursday, Hearst Television’s Chief Financial Officer John Drain credited Herriott with helping align the company’s financial operations with its broadcast business.
“Stan has played an integral role in the successful alignment of finance with operations in support and advancement of our business,” Drain said.
Before joining Hearst Television, Herriott spent more than 14 years at Univision, where he held leadership positions in finance, shared services and internal auditing. Earlier in his career, he worked as an Audit Manager at Arthur Andersen.
Herriott is a Certified Public Accountant and serves on the Board of Directors of the Media Financial Management Association. He also serves as an Executive Sponsor of Umoja, a Hearst Television employee resource group.
Herriott graduated from Montclair State University and completed the Hearst Management Institute, the company’s executive leadership development program.
“It has been a privilege to conclude my media career with Hearst Television, the premier local broadcast company with the most talented media professionals in the business,” Herriott said in a statement.
