Bloomberg Radio celebrated its entrance into the Boston radio market last week with a day-long broadcast from its South Station studio.

Clear Channel-owned talk station WXKS began simulcasting Bloomberg Radio’s New York feed in March after announcing a shift away from talk radio. The station had previously carried syndicated talk programming from Rush Limbaugh and other noted personalities.

The expansion of Bloomberg Radio into Boston marked the first time the station was heard over-the-air in a city outside New York City, and the first time its signal was carried on a station not owned by the company. Apart from its station in New York and affiliate in Boston, Bloomberg Radio carries a modified feed of its programming across the U.S. and Canada on SiriusXM Satellite Radio and around the world on its website Bloomberg.com.

Bloomberg Radio plans on adding more local content on its Boston affiliate in the future. The network carries some audio simulcasts of programming from its sister outlet Bloomberg Television along with rebroadcasts of its flagship news magazine program “Charlie Rose.”
