(Graphic by The Desk)

A new digital television network called Digi TV began broadcasting earlier this month in several major markets ahead of a more formal launch slated for later this month.

The network is expected to air a slate of general entertainment, knowledge and lifestyle shows, according to a teaser trailer that has aired on a loop on the digital sub-channels of Univision and Unimas stations in several markets, including Dallas, Houston and Sacramento.

Shows that are expected to air on Digi TV include:

  • Blue Heelers (Australia)
  • City Homicide (Australia)
  • Country House Rescue (UK)
  • The Gadget Show (UK)
  • The Island with Bear Grylls (UK)
  • Midsomer Murders (UK)
  • The Renovators (Australian)
  • The Restoration Man (UK)

Few details are known about the company that is operating Digi TV: According to its website and legal filings reviewed by The Desk, the network’s owner is listed as Net X Holdings, LLC, a company that registered earlier this year as a for-profit corporation in Delaware and as a foreign-owned limited liability company in Georgia. An address for the company’s Georgia location returned to a generic office building in Atlanta that is associated with a wide range of other, non-affiliated businesses.

A job listing found by The Desk said Net X Holdings was “founded by a team of broadcast veterans with successful networks under their belts,” but the identities of those broadcast veterans was not available.

It was not clear if Net X Holdings was related to a similarly-named investment company based in Malaysia that specializes in research and development with a specific focus on technology and software.

Digi TV is expected to formally debut on September 27.
