FanDuel to rebrand TVG with focus on sports betting

Television Games Network (TVG), a cable network owned by FanDuel, will re-brand later this year as part of its parent company’s focus on sports betting.

The re-brand, which could happen as early as September, will see TVG’s streaming service re-branded to FanDuel Plus and the names of its two linear television networks changed to reflect the FanDuel brand name.

The changes will not affect the TVG horse betting app and website. The website Legal Sports Report first noted FanDuel’s re-branding campaign on Monday.

FanDuel TV will replace the flagship TVG channel and move away from programming focused on horse betting during the early morning hours in favor of shows that focus on betting and sports highlights from across different events. Racing would return for the core part of the viewing day, with replays of shows in the overnight hours.

TVG2 will be renamed FanDuel Racing, according to tentative plans for that channel, and will continue to focus on horse betting and other forms of racing-style competitions.

TVG came under FanDuel’s ownership through the betting brand’s parent company Flutter in 2009. Flutter paid $50 million for TVG, which reaches around 60 million homes throughout the United States, primarily via cable and satellite. An associated live wagering service is available in nearly three dozen states.
