Entertainment and sports-centric streaming service Vidgo is rolling out an updated version of its app that features a new logo, color scheme and user interface improvements.
The refresh is part of a broader overhaul of Vidgo’s streaming strategy that places more emphasis on general entertainment, college sports and cable news.
The new Vidgo logo features the brand name in all capital letters, with a neutral color scheme offset by red and blue highlights. A partial arrow inside the “O” of Vidgo resembles a play button — a subliminal nod to the streamer’s mission of being a place where viewers have the “freedom to be entertained,” as its tagline suggests.
The user interface of the streaming service keeps in place many of the same, familiar elements of prior versions, but ditches the orange and white palette hue for a more-balanced red, white, blue and gray color scheme. The interface also sports the new Vidgo logo, which was first spotted on the inaugural broadcast of Bill O’Reilly’s “Shock & Awe” program that is exclusive to the streaming service.
A Vidgo executive confirmed to The Desk that the refreshed app began rolling out on mobile, tablet and smart TV platforms over the last few days. Vidgo is supported across most popular smartphones and tablets, with apps also available for Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV (Google TV) and Apple TV.
Vidgo offers over 100 live cable channels for $60 a month, with many of its channels dedicated to general entertainment, lifestyle, sports and cable news programming. It has agreements with several major programmers, including Fox Corporation (Fox, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, Fox News, Fox Weather, Big 10 Network), the Walt Disney Company (ABC, Disney Channel, FX, Freeform, ESPN, Longhorn Network), A+E Networks (A&E, History Channel, TLC), the Discovery Networks side of Warner Bros Discovery (Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Science Channel), TelevisaUnivision, the MTV Networks side of Paramount Global (Paramount Network, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, TV Land), NewsMax and One America News.
Vidgo also offers more live sports in its base package than any other service, with NFL Network, MLB Network, NHL Network, MotorTrend, Fox Sports channels, ESPN channels, Longhorn Network, SEC Network, Pac-12 Networks and others offered for $60 a month. A premium tier of service unlocks NFL RedZone and dozens of other channels for $80 a month.
