Fox News Digital posts online gains during Q2 2023

Fox News Digital, the online platform operated by Fox News Media, topped competitors CNN and the New York Times in multiplatform views and minutes during the second quarter of 2023, according to data from Comscore.

The data shows Fox News Digital had more than 4.76 billion multiplatform views during Q2 2022, a 10 percent increase compared to the same time period last year. The figure includes visits to the Fox News and Fox Business Network websites and related online properties.

By comparison, CNN posted a 15 percent year-over-year drop to 3.529 billion multiplatform views during Q2 2022, while the New York Times had a 19 percent decline to 3.648 billion views.

Fox News Digital also logged higher multiplatform minutes, with more than 9.411 billion minutes consumed across its digital properties, up 8 percent from Q2 2022. CNN and the New York Times both posted double-digit percentage drops in the same metric, with CNN grabbing 5.477 billion minutes and the New York Times logging 3.647 billion minutes. The website of Fox Business Network grabbed 454 million multiplatform views, passing CNN and Forbes.com for several consecutive quarters.

The period covered a three-month window that ended June 30.

Fox News Digital was also the most-engaged news brand on social media compared to its cable news peers, according to data from Emplifi, which showed Fox News had 90.4 million total social interactions across various social websites.

Fox News had 57.5 million interactions on Instagram, 22.4 million interactions on Facebook and 10.5 million Twitter interactions, according to analytics firm Shareablee.

On YouTube, videos on the Fox Business Network profile remained the highest-viewed among the competitive set of business-focused channels, grabbing a collective 207.6 million views, a 36 percent quarter-over-quarter increase.
