Comcast is offering its Xfinity TV customers a deep discount on NFL Sunday Ticket when purchased through YouTube Primetime Channels.
Starting August 23, new and existing Xfinity customers who bundle Internet and TV service through Comcast are eligible to receive a $200 discount off NFL Sunday Ticket, the company announced.
The discount is being offered to eligible customers through Xfinity Rewards, the loyalty program that offers Comcast customers deals and discounts on a wide variety of products and services.
New and existing customers must have Xfinity Internet as well as the Choice package or higher from Xfinity TV in order to receive the discount.
Some long-time Xfinity customers who only have an Internet plan will also be eligible for a discount to NFL Sunday Ticket, though the discount is lowered to $100 for the season, and is only available to “Diamond” or “Platinum” level members of Xfinity Rewards. The “Diamond” tier of Xfinity Rewards is reserved for customers who have maintained an active Xfinity service plan for at least seven years, while “Platinum” is reserved for customers with service for 14 years or longer.
The Xfinity Rewards deal for NFL Sunday Ticket is only available through the YouTube app’s Primetime Channels feature — it doesn’t apply to YouTube TV, even though the streaming service is available on Xfinity Flex devices.
New Xfinity customers must activate their Internet and TV plans, then enroll in Xfinity Rewards before they can redeem the discount to NFL Sunday Ticket through YouTube. Customers who cancel their service before the end of February may be charged the full amount for NFL Sunday Ticket, according to the fine print on Xfinity’s website.
The following deadlines for the discount apply:
- August 23: NFL Sunday Ticket discount offer begins for new and existing Xfinity customers.
- September 29: Last day for existing customers to access the NFL Sunday Ticket discount through Xfinity Rewards.
- September 30: NFL Sunday Ticket discount offer ends for existing Xfinity customers.
- October 13: Last day for new customers to activate their Xfinity service in order to receive the NFL Sunday Ticket discount through Xfinity Rewards.
- October 23: Last day for new customers to enroll in Xfinity Rewards in order to receive the NFL Sunday Ticket discount.
- November 1: Last day for new and existing customers to redeem their NFL Sunday Ticket discount through YouTube Primetime Channels.
The NFL Sunday Ticket offers live access to out-of-market games aired on CBS and Fox stations throughout the country. The package does not include games available on a viewer’s local CBS or Fox station, nor does it include nationally-televised games aired on NBC (Sunday Night Football), ESPN and ABC (Monday Night Football), Amazon Prime Video (Thursday Night Football) and NFL Network (select international games).
When purchased through YouTube Primetime Channels, the NFL Sunday Ticket is accessible through the YouTube app across all major popular devices, including Xfinity X1 and Flex set-top boxes.
The retail price of NFL Sunday Ticket when purchased through YouTube Primetime Channels is $450 per season. The discount offered to Xfinity Internet and TV bundlers brings the cost down to $250 per season, or $350 for some tenured Xfinity customers with Diamond or Platinum tiers of Xfinity Rewards.
Though not part of the Xfinity discount, NFL Sunday Ticket is also available through YouTube TV at a cost of $350 per season (currently discounted to $300 through the beginning of September) when purchased with a monthly subscription to YouTube TV’s base package, which costs $73 a month.
