Fox Corporation says its chief legal officer Viet Dinh will step down from the role in December, but remain with the company as a strategic special advisor.

“We appreciate Viet’s many contributions and service to Fox as both a board member of 21st Century Fox and in his role over the last five years as a valued member of Fox’s leadership team,” Lachlan Murdoch, the chairman and CEO of Fox Corporation, said in a statement on Friday. “We are grateful that he will continue to serve Fox as special advisor, where we will benefit from his counsel.”

Dinh has served as the chief legal and policy officer at Fox since 2018, and helped the company navigate several business and legal-related matters, including its divestiture of film and TV assets to the Walt Disney Company and its $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems to end a prolonged defamation case.

Dinh joined the company in 2004 as a board member of 21st Century Fox. He also served on the board of directors for cosmetics company Revlon.

“I have been privileged to be part of the Fox family for over two decades as a director and officer, and I have especially treasured my relationships with Rupert, Lachlan and our talented colleagues over the years,” Dinh said in a statement. “”I look forward to continuing with FOX as Special Advisor, and to returning to my roots of working on multiple ventures and with many clients across a variety of disciplines.”

Dinh is the second senior executive to change roles at Fox over the last few months. In May, former Fox communications and brand reputation head Raj Shah left the company, according to a report. Shah reported directly to Dinh.

Dinh will depart on December 31, at which point he will transition into his special advisor role with the company.
