Local Now is the leading free streaming service for local news, so this partnership with CBS – a trusted local news source for millions of Americans – was an undeniable match,” Byron Allen, the founder and CEO of Allen Media Group, said in a statement on Wednesday. “With the addition of CBS News and CBS Sports Golazo Network, we’re simultaneously able to expand our entertainment content offering for our audience. We’re excited for what’s ahead with our great partners at CBS.”

The addition of the new CBS local news feeds brings the number of local news streams on Local Now to over 130, according to a count by The Desk. It also allows Local Now to promote itself as one of the few free, ad-supported streaming services that offers at least one local news channel in every designated TV market in the country.

Bringing our [free streaming] channels to Local Now represents the next step in accelerating the growth of our streaming business,” Wendy McMahon, the president and CEO of the CBS News and Stations division at Paramount Global, said in a statement. “We’re seeing significant increases in the total minutes streamed on our platforms this year. Partnering with the Allen Media Group will help us expand our reach even further, and not just in local news, but also with our flagship CBS News national streaming channel, CBS Sports Golazo Network, Inside Edition and Dabl.”

Local Now and CBS deliver unmatched content and user experience in the free streaming space,” Michael Senzon, the president of digital at Allen Media Group, said on Wednesday. “Wendy and her team at CBS have been pioneering in the [free streaming] space, and this partnership showcases Local Now‘s market leading commitment to have the best localized news and entertainment platform available.”

Local Now is available across all major streaming television platforms, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV (Google TV) and Apple TV, as well as phones and tablets.
