The Fox News Channel will air a town hall with GOP presidential nominee front-runner Donald Trump the same evening that rival cable news channel CNN is set to host a debate with other GOP nominee hopefuls.
On Tuesday, Fox News Media announced its town hall with former President Trump will air on Wednesday, January 10 at 9 p.m. — the same day and time that CNN is scheduled to air the first of two scheduled Republican presidential candidate debates.
The Trump town hall on Fox News will be co-hosted by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, who co-moderated the network’s first Republican debate last August. It will be the first time Trump has conducted a joint town hall-style interview with Baier and MacCallum since May 2020, the network said in a press release.
“Hannity,” the prime-time program hosted by Sean Hannity, normally airs in the 9 p.m. time slot, but will be pre-empted by one hour the evening of Trump’s town hall, the network affirmed.
Trump has not participated in any debate with fellow Republican presidential nominee contenders this year, including the first set of debates aired by Fox News. The first debate on Fox News averaged nearly 13 million viewers, making it the highest-rated program on television that evening. Months earlier, a CNN town hall with Trump grabbed just 3.3 million viewers for the evening.
