Paramount Global’s CBS is revamping its streaming news channel ahead of its 10th anniversary.

Starting later this month, CBS News Digital will get a new name — CBS News 24/7 — and new programming to reflect its refreshed identity, executives confirmed in a press release on Wednesday.

The new CBS News 24/7 streaming channel will debut a whiparound-style news program bearing the same name, which will tap the resources of its national CBS News reporting team along with local journalists at nearly two dozen CBS-owned local stations to provide updates on the latest headlines across the nation and around the world. It will also offer enhanced weather forecasts that use augmented and virtual reality.

Executives say CBS News 24/7 will “double the amount of live hours to cover breaking news and ensure viewers are informed and engaged with the latest developments as they unfold around the world, delivered by the local-to-global journalists they know and trust.”

The CBS News 24/7 show launches in June. CBS News is also relaunching its flagship political affairs program “America Decides,” which will expand to one hour, as well as “Prime Time with John Dickerson,” which will be renamed “The Daily Report with John Dickerson.” And a new show debuting later this year called “CBS News Confirmed” will tackle misinformation that spreads online and in other places.

CBS News 24/7 will take things a step further by adopting the CBS News roundup-style of hourly headlines that were once heard on its radio stations, bringing the latest news updates from CBS local and national journalists at the top of every hour. CBS News Roundup will start at 1 a.m. Eastern Time (10 p.m. Pacific Time), and will air on some CBS broadcast stations and affiliates during their fringe overnight hours.

“CBS News 24/7 is a decidedly ambitious evolution of our streaming efforts,” said Wendy McMahon, the President and CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures. “Data backs up our bet on a fresh, timely and distinctive approach to breaking news and live coverage. Our audiences crave it, and we’re in the best position to deliver it.”

“Our commitment is to mirror on the stream the same level of world-class reporting and analysis that CBS News viewers expect from our television broadcasts,” Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews, the President of CBS News, said in a statement. “The expansion of John Dickerson’s program, America Decides, and the upcoming CBS News Confirmed show are just a few of the ways in which we are driving the next generation of viewers to this high-quality reporting that sets CBS News apart.”

CBS News 24/7 will be distributed across all platforms that currently carry CBS News Digital, including Paramount Plus, Pluto TV, the Roku Channel, Xumo Play, Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, Vizio WatchFree Plus and the CBS News app for phones and tablets.
