Technology firm FreeCast says its former Chief Financial Officer Chris Savine will re-join the company in a similar role.
Savine served as the CFO of FreeCast from 2014 to 2020, before departing the company during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to deal with unspecified personal matters.
This week, FreeCast welcomed Savine back, hiring him to the role of Chief Operations Officer and Head of Finance. His appointment comes at a time when FreeCast is exploring a direct listing on the NASDAQ; last week, the company said it hired Maxim Group as its sole financial in connection with its NASDAQ pursuit.
“We’re thrilled to have Chris back — he’s been a part of this team and this family for years,” William Mobley, the CEO of FreeCast, said in a statement. “And, equally important, the value of his skill set and specific experience is undeniable. Here’s someone who’s served at the highest levels of major players in the media and tech industries, particularly during times of expansion and transition. That’s a tremendous asset for us right now as we take this company public.”
Savine has an extensive resume that includes executive roles at other media and entertainment companies, including Capital Cities-ABC (now part of the Walt Disney Company), AOL Time Warner, Netscape, R. R. Donnelley and Cenveo.
FreeCast offers a whole-home solution that allows former cable and satellite subscribers to receive free, over-the-air television signals across their Internet-connected devices, including smart TVs, phones and tablets.
