Electronics maker TCL has signed an agreement with Hearst Television’s Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) to distribute three streaming channels through their free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) platform TCL TV Plus.
The new channels include Rover Pets, Xplore and the Jack Hanna Channel, and will be available in two categories: Animals and Nature, and Travel and Outdoors.
“Through our partnership with TCL TV Plus, we’ll introduce new audiences to our FAST Channels and library of more than 4,000 hours of unscripted programming,” Andrew Tew, the Senior Vice President of Global Licensing and Distribution at HMPG, said in a statement on Monday.
“We are pleased to offer our viewers inspirational stories that allows them endless opportunities to learn and explore,” Catherine Zhang, the Vice President of Content Service and Partnerships at TCL, said on Monday. “Our partnership with HMPG broadens our growing library to an even wider audience in our family skewing categories.”
The addition of the new FAST channels brings the total number of free content streams available through TCL TV Plus to over 330.
Over the past several months, TCL has announced deals with Fox News Media, the National Football League and other programmers to bring their FAST channels to TCL TV Plus, which is currently available on TCL-branded smart TVs running the Android TV (Google TV) operating system. A version of TCL TV Plus is coming soon to Roku TVs.
