Ad serving and personalization service Clinch is updating its Sports API to include data from the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, the company announced on Thursday.
Sports API will include numerous data points from the Olympic Games, including live scores; daily medal counts; event countdowns by sports type; event countdown by sports and country; and sporting event results, including final scores and which countries and athletes won or lost an event.
“By enhancing our Sports API offering to include Olympics data, Clinch continues to empower advertisers to engage with audiences in real-time, delivering personalized experiences during one of the most anticipated sporting events in the world,” Oz Etzioni, the CEO of Clinch, said in a statement. “Brands can leverage our Sports API not only for the Olympics but also for other summer events such as MLB and the UEFA European Championship.”
The expansion of Sports API to include data from the Olympic Games will allow brands to offer personalized and localized experiences in real-time, which Clinch says will match “the fast-paced nature of the Olympic Games” themselves.
“To enhance fan personalization, brands can employ a range of complementary strategies,” a Clinch spokesperson suggested in a press release. “These include utilizing sequential messaging, directing consumers to nearby dedicated merchant partners or delivery services, and showcasing product feeds highlighting top-performing items.”

The 2024 Summer Olympic Games will start on July 26. In the United States, Comcast’s NBC Universal holds the telecast rights to the games, with events streamed live on Peacock.
