FilmRise is expanding the role of its chief financial executive to include growth strategy initiatives.
This month, Chief Financial Officer Johnny Holden also became the company’s Chief Strategy Officer, a role that will involve developing and executing all financial and growth strategies across the media and entertainment firm.
“Johnny’s management is characterized by a forward-thinking approach and dedication to fostering a collaborative and inclusive company culture,” FilmRise CEO Danny Fisher said in a statement. “His unwavering commitment to excellence and innovative strategic planning has solidified FilmRise’s position as a leader in the industry, propelling its growth and success.”
FilmRise is one of the world’s top content providers, licensing TV shows and movies for subscription-based (SVOD) and ad-supported platforms (AVOD), along with free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) content channels.
Content distributed by FilmRise includes Gordon Ramsay’s “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Kitchen Nightmares,” the British crime drama “Prime Suspect,” reality show “Cheaters” and investigative series “Unsolved Mysteries,” among others. The production and licensing company has distribution deals with major platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, Freevee, Tubi, Peacock, Xumo Play and Pluto TV.
Holden started at FilmRise four years ago, and “has become essential in growing FilmRise to an industry-leading syndicator of FAST channels and a leading provider of content to AVOD platforms,” the company said in a statement.
“His strategic initiatives have greatly supported the company’s growth and include refining FilmRise’s data-driven analytics processes that guide the acquisition of high-demand content as well as the robust release of FilmRise content on dozens of streaming platforms and over 400 FilmRise syndicated FAST channels worldwide,” the company affirmed.”
“We are confident that Johnny’s ongoing strategic initiatives will continue to bolster the company as a dominant player in the AVOD/FAST space worldwide,” Fisher said.
It is the second promotion involving a FilmRise executive announced by the company this month. Two weeks ago, FilmRise said it was elevating Jonitha Keymoore to serve as its new Head of Content, overseeing licensing deals like the ones she brokered with Complex for “Hot Ones” and ABC Music for “The Wiggles.”
