Bango has diversified its offering of subscription-based products available to telecom partners by inking an agreement with Nord for its suite of security products, the company announced on Tuesday.

Prodcuts like NordVPN and the password manager NordPass are now available to Bango’s telecom partners through the Digital Vending Machine, a technology platform that allows those partners to natively offer individual or bundled subscriptions to third party products, with native payment processing and subscription management tools.

The Digital Vending Machine has largely focused on offering telecoms like Verizon (which uses the product to power its subscription marketplace, Verizon Plus-Play) access to streaming video products like Netflix, Max and Disney Plus, though Bango’s Vice President of Marketing Giles Tongue told The Desk earlier this year that the company envisioned offering a full suite of subscription-based products that branched beyond video.

“If you plug in to a partner through Bango, we offer a cost-effective way to reach new customers and scale up your product or service,” Tongue said. “Our mission is, literally, to manage half a billion subscriptions. Globally. That’s very open-ended. That could take shape in any number of ways. We’re agnostic about the partnerships on both ends — to us, it’s one company’s product or service being sold by another company. We bring those partnerships to the real world, and make those transactions happen.”

The partnership between Bango and Nord is a significant step in the direction of the company offering more subscription products that complement, but are different, from its streaming video connections. Starting this week, Bango’s Digital Vending Machine clients have the ability to resell Nord Security, which includes the flagship NordVPN software and a password manager called NordPass.

“The mission of Nord Security has always been building a better internet by providing high quality cybersecurity and privacy services that are accessible to all,” Laura Tyrylytė, the Head of Global Public Relations at Nord Security, said in a statement. “We are always looking for opportunities to scale the distribution of our subscription services rapidly and efficiently to a wider audience. We believe that this partnership is a great way for us to reach new customers.”

“We’re pleased to assist Nord Security in scaling the success of their indirect distribution channels,” Anil Malhotra, the Chief Marketing Officer at Bango, said on Tuesday. “Handling individual telco connections is time-consuming and costly. The Digital Vending Machine from Bango significantly reduces the effort and cost involved in launching these distribution channels. Telcos can now easily offer these security products to their customers, enriching their Super Bundling content hubs with a wider variety of services.”

The announcement marks the latest non-video product offered by Bango through its Digital Vending Machine. Last month, Bango teamed up with Uber to integrate the ride-share and delivery company’s membership product Uber One into the platform.
