NewsNation will present special coverage of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois throughout the week, beginning Sunday, August 18th through Thursday, August 22nd. With its headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, NewsNation is the lone network to be based in the Midwest – home to both national conventions. Host Chris Cuomo and host and chief Washington anchor Leland Vittert will be in Chicago at the convention center.
Reporters will give viewers a Backstage Pass, take them behind-the-scenes, showing them what happens at the convention hall, but also in delegate rooms and across greater Chicago. As the only cable news network based in Chicago and the Midwest, NewsNation plans to spotlight America’s heartland to viewers across the nation
Programming highlights include:
- Sunday, August 18h: Chris Stirewalt will anchor a special edition of The Hill Sunday in Washington, DC from 10 AM-11AM ET. Washington Correspondent Kellie Meyer will be live on location from inside the convention arena.
- Sunday, August 18th – Thursday, August 22nd: A special edition of On Balance With Leland Vittert will air in its usual time slot, followed by special prime-time coverage entitled Decision Desk 2024: The Democratic National Convention, from 8 PM ET – 12 AM. Co-anchored by Chris Cuomo, Elizabeth Vargas, and Leland Vittert. Chris Stirewalt, and NewsNation anchor Connell McShane will be covering from New York. Chris Cuomo will be reporting from the arena and Leland Vittert from the convention floor.
- National Correspondents Alex Caprariello, Mills Hayes and Nancy Loo will be covering the protests and activity happening outside the convention hall.
- Washington correspondent Joe Khalil and Washington correspondent Kellie Meyer will report from the floor and convention hall. Additionally, NewsNation campaign embed Jackie Koppell will be following the campaign, reporting live throughout the convention.
- NewsNationNow.com and the NewsNation app will also feature live coverage from the convention, including key speeches, live streams, and what’s happening on the convention floor. - The Hill.com, a division of Nexstar Networks, will also provide on-the-ground reporting from the DNC convention.
